Eloise's Landscaping Advice

Hello! My name is Eloise. Welcome to my blog. I started this blog because I realised that I needed a space where I could capture my thoughts about landscaping while also offering some top tips to people who are interested in improving the landscaping around their home or office building. I should point out that I am not a professional landscaping contractor. I am simply someone who moved into a property which needed a lot of work carried out. When I watched the men working on the landscaping, I couldn't help but ask questions about what they were doing. During the course of the work, they really inspired me to find out all I can about this fascinating topic.

Does your garden need a new lawn?

Blog

Does your lawn resemble a patch of mud rather than a neatly manicured green space? Maybe, you have recently moved into your home and are looking for a way to revitalize your garden? Perhaps, a busy work schedule or a hectic family life has prevented you from spending the time needed to take proper care of the outside of your home? Whatever the reason that your garden needs attention, it is often wise to start any new landscaping projects by considering a new lawn. A well-maintained lawn can be a great centrepiece to the garden and provide a space for your family to sit, play or enjoy the fresh air. Before installing a new lawn, one of the decisions you must make is which turf to buy.

Which turf do you need?

Buffalo turf is often a good choice for your lawn as it has several characteristics that help it stand out from other types of turf. Before settling on turf for your lawn check that your chosen turf can meet all these requirements.

Will the turf thrive in my locality?

There is no value in laying turf if it will not survive for long. You must look for turf that has the resilience to survive both the natural environment and how your family will use the lawn. The Australian environment can be harsh. It's possible to experience everything from ice to extreme heat only a few months apart. Some types of buffalo turf have been developed to withstand these conditions and will thrive throughout the year, ensuring that your garden always remains green no matter how much rain may have fallen or how hot the weather may get. Some turf varieties may look great when recently installed, but they can soon develop bald patches once your children start running around on the grass, and maybe playing cricket or some other sport. Baldness can quickly spoil the appearance of a lawn, so checking the resilience of the turf is vital.

Is the turf soft underfoot?

One of the most under-appreciated considerations in selecting a variety of turf is how it feels to walk on the lawn. Some turf varieties sacrifice softness for resilience, but if you have pets or children that like to walk on the grass barefoot, you don't want to make the experience unpleasant for them. Look for a variety, such as Sapphire Buffalo turf, or a similar product that combines proven resilience with softness.
